With the ongoing boom in NFT, and since it's probably the liveliest trend in crypto right now, plus the Merge that's about to happen, we add on top the fact that 80% of all jpegs are on Ethereum. This begs the question: what will happen to NFTs after the merge?

In short, NFT actions will become super low energy-consuming for transaction processing compared to what they were. Also, by becoming as green as possible and so popular digital pictures will be able to get another breath and continue to gain popularity among the masses.

OpenSea said it would only support NFTs that will work on PoS after the Merge.

Does this mean there will need to be a new marketplace for trading undesirable PoW jpegs? Would society condemn such people? Will it be shameful to sell forked ETHs? So many questions and so few answers. By the way, by greening NFT, they want to increase the popularity among gamers. How many eco-games do you personally know?

Free Green NFTs!

In honour of the Merge, ConsenSys, a company with some connection to Ethereum, has announced a giveaway of free NFTs, which will also be first on PoS. It smells like something to sell. Mint will take place on merge day and be available to all; we need a little new green gas. A historic event, after all!

The collection will be called Regenesis, and the pictures will depict a carefully detailed world that embodies one of the main benefits of the merge: sustainability, safety and scalability. ConsenSys collaborated with Invisible North to develop a series of illustrations by artist and illustrator Chris Skinner; Keithcity Group did the NFT animation.
