Long story short, Elon promised to fight against bots and trolls on Twitter. Those who offer you to send them 1 BTC and get 2 BTC instead. Those who creep around tweets shilling some political parties’ ideas. 

Musk’s proposal:

– Charge $8 (or less, depending on the country you live in) monthly for “blue tick”, that is, the account’s verification

– From now, everyone will be able to buy this “blue tick”. This feature will decrease the Twitter advertisements two times, and also will push your replies above those who do not have it in the timeline

– If a “blue” acc will spam, algorithms ban it

What reaction followed: 

Steven King sent this offer to “Dark Tower”, saying Twitter should pay him for attracting people to
the platform. Our beloved (not our? not beloved?) MicroStrategy  CEO Saylor supported the idea, like, bots will not like it.
