I've already celebrated Christmas; now I'm celebrating New Year's Eve. Ha! I'm gonna celebrate it oh-oh-oh... but first, let's recap the year, bro.

The market seems to have decided not to show much sign of life for the rest of the year and has frozen up like a f@cking cold meat... Some individual stories stand out, but is this what we've been waiting for?! A new round of bullrun, an altseason...I'm still waiting for my presents, blah blah blah!

ETH didn't go up, but gas is consistently high. At least you could get a drop if you spent a lot.

Champion of the week: Ooki (+58.59%) 

I'll repeat it for the hundredth time, but TVL BSC refuses to grow at all, which is why it was pushed down by Terra as cheap wh@re... 

Gainer of the week: Pinkswap (+6484%)

TVL SOLANA in a general trend and without much news...

Boost of the week: Chest Finance (+79.26%)

TVL Polygon rose by USD 200 million during the week. The token is concentrated, though, mostly in whales.  

Consolation of the week: Gains Network (+3884%)

TVL AVALANCHE is no longer growing exponentially. 

Leader of the week: OrcaDAO (+721%)

But FANTOM is firing after a long plateau.

Opening of the week: StakeSteak (+83.39%)

Projects' News

Fei protocol

Fei Protocol and Rari Capital have officially initiated a planned merger of the two protocols, transforming RGT into TRIBE (DAO) for token holders. The two projects will retain separate branding and roadmaps in the short term, with a complete task alignment and resource sharing plan planned for 2022.

Transak

Transak Finance, the development team creating payment bridges between fiat and cryptocurrency, launched fiat bridges for Ethereum's popular L2 solutions, Arbitrum and Optimism, on 22 December. The bridges represent a significant milestone in the mass adoption of L2, allowing users to directly transfer value online using their local fiat currency and card providers. Without the fiat bridge, L2 transactions would have required users to transfer assets to the Ethereum network before transferring them to Arbitrum or Optimism, resulting in significant gas fees.

AAVE

SEBA, a Swiss bank specialising in digital assets, has published a management proposal requesting to become a tester for Aave's Arc institutional lending platform. If the proposal is approved, SEBA will perform the functions of attracting users to the platform and monitoring their compliance with KYC and AML. It would also be a big step forward in Aave's strategy to attract institutional investors. In July, the protocol announced the development of an authorised institutional platform and received mixed reactions from the crypto community. Some expressed concern that DeFi's lead team was directing its energies towards creating a closed protocol.

Thorstarter 

Thorstarter has partnered with Maya Protocol. Maya Protocol is a CosmosSDK-based state replication mechanism for coordinating asset movements, including handling exchanges, rates and more, without the need for asset tethering.  In other words, Maya will be the second Multichain DEX on the market. Maya plans to launch in May.
