Mr Gavin Wood shared some news on his Twitter. He told Polkadot is ready to spend 18,936,300 DOT (DOT = $41 at the moment) for building, improving, educating and indeed, anything else that the Polkadot governance believes valuable.

Twitter User asked Gavin how did they get so much DOT? Wood answered that the DOT in the treasury comes as a natural part of the network protocol. If it goes unused, it slowly gets burned. It currently burns 239,988 DOT every month.
