MGM Studios has planned a film adaptation of "The Antisocial Network" by Ben Mezrich, author of the book about the history of Facebook that became the basis for David Fincher's "The Social Network."

The book will focus on the flash mob of Reddit users who were buying up stoncks of the "dying" GameStop, Deadline reported citing sources.

The publication states that MGM signed a contract to adapt the as-yet-unreleased book on January 29. It all happened so quickly because of competition fears.

The signing with Mezrich is also due to the fact that he is already well-known in Hollywood.

For example, his book "The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook: A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal" was adapted by David Fincher as "The Social Network."

Mezrich is listed as one of the authors of the script.

The title of the new book, "The Antisocial Network," refers to that film.
