Cobie, Optimism and the chaos in the comments

A well-known crypto enthusiast named @cobie, aka host UpOnly, aka a friendly crypto dog, decided to troll Optimism about the recent drop. So what caused the uncontrollable drop, and what was the gimmick in the first place?

As I'm sure you've learned by experience, a lot of drops are only necessary for immediate release into the stack, aka sale (if you didn't - you didn't get the drops), which is exactly what a lot of people did with Optimism drops: claimed tokens = sold them. And the Optimism guys, in turn, got offended and decided to block future drops to anyone who did so.

Kobi responded by rolling out his proposals with reprisals against flippers, like handing them over to collectors to shake out the dough and handing them over for the benefit of the record.
