Solana has taken on NFT spam elimination in serious

Share

Cryptocurrency wallet Phantom wallet, powered by Solana's blockchain, has added a new Burn Token feature that allows users to remove NFT spam sent out by scammers.

"We are still in the Wild West days of Web3. As the crypto ecosystem grows, so does the number of bad players looking for ways to steal users' funds. The rapid growth in popularity of NFT has led to scammers using an increasingly common method of attack - NFT spamming," - told the Phantom wallet team.

Why has this problem affected Solana specifically, but we haven't heard the same thing about Ethereum? There are two reasons. First, the fact that you haven't heard doesn't mean that on Ethereum, they don't do the same (btw, it’s easier to hack Buterin’s Instagram and scam ppl. Yes, Buterin doesn't have an Ins acc. Ha-ha).

The second reason is more important, it is a small commission for the transaction, and because of it, you can shunt as much NFT as you want and send it to every address.

According to CryptoSlam, Solana had the second highest NFT sales in July with $56.1 million, behind only Ethereum, which had sales of $535.6 million.
