SEGA launches Oasys blockchain-based card game

The Japanese gaming giant has decided to launch its first blockchain project. This will take place on Layer 2 Oasys as a digital collectible card game.

The Layer 2 Oasys HOME verse is expected to release a digital collectible card game licensed by SEGA, developed and managed by Japanese blockchain game developer double jump.tokyo.

The name may not tell us anything, but it is a well-known blockchain game developer in Japan. We can understand this at least because Sega itself allowed him to release games under its patronage.

Oasys is a game-optimized proof-of-stake network that offers gamers a high-speed experience with zero gas charges, combining public level-1 and private level-2 blockchain technology.

Speaking at the Tokyo Games Show earlier this month, Rio Matsubara, director of Oasys, said that leading game companies are looking to develop new games on the blockchain rather than porting existing ones.
