Monero created a hard fork to improve security and anonymity

Share

Monero is one of the most important confidential protocols at the moment. This Saturday held a hard fork to improve the security and anonymity of the system.

More than 70 developers made it possible thanks to 4 months of work. And in the end, it was done on block 2 688 888. Much of the work was done on the multi-signature mechanism, which was under attack almost every week if we remembered the news one or two months ago.

"Multi-signature means that a transaction needs multiple signatures before it can be sent to the Monero network and executed. Instead of one Monero wallet creating, signing and sending transactions on its own, you have to use a whole group of wallets and interact between them to make transactions," as the website explains.

Another innovation was "view tags" this option allowed for 30%-40% faster wallet synchronisation. This is one of the key tools to improve the speed of the ecosystem built around Monero.
