Institutional Investors Aim to Return to DeFi

Share

Due to events in 2022, institutional investors are showing increased trust in DeFi and reduced trust in centralized crypto structures.

This conclusion was reached after surveying 50 American institutional investors with assets of over $5 million, conducted by Avantgarde, the company behind the Enzyme asset management protocol.

80% of those surveyed said that they would be using DeFi much more frequently than they did a year ago, in light of the recent crashes from Terra to FTX.

Steven Goldfeder, co-founder and CEO of Offchain Labs (the team behind Arbitrum), concurs that self-custody (taking personal responsibility for one's assets) will play a crucial role in driving the growth of TVL (total value locked) in DeFi in 2023.
