"Gamers want to fan games, not grind tokens" - Blowfish Studios

Blockchain game developer Blowfish Studios, owned by Animoca, said that gamers sooner or later will get tired of stupidly grinding out tokens sooner or later. And the sphere will become more popular when blockchain-based games can bring the same gaming experience as League of Legends or Fortnite.

Blockchain-based games should spend more time making them "fun to play" rather than developing flashy tokenomics, a blockchain game developer from a studio owned by Animoca Brands said in an interview.

"You can see from many other blockchain games that playing is not fun. For example, yes, you have the potential to earn a pretty significant amount of tokens, and you get a good return on investment most of the time. But overall, they're not that much fun, right?", Luke Silley's manifesto.

When asked about the type of games where NFT and Play-2-Earn integration work best, Sillay pointed to free-to-play giants such as Riot's League of Legends and Epic Games' Fortnite, which already have internal markets built in.

Sillay added that some barriers to entry to blockchain-based games can put some people off and that if the entry process is fine-tuned, it could attract new users.
