It's no secret that GameStop continues to make losses and the company itself is on the brink. Now FTX gift cards will be sold in GameStop stores. Perhaps FTX will take part in projects that GameStop launches.

Video game retailer GameStop has announced its partnership with FTX, one of the most popular cryptocurrency exchanges in the world. According to a press release on Sept. 7, the game retailer will sell FTX gift cards in select stores.

In addition, the two companies will collaborate on e-commerce and online marketing. GameStop will also become FTX's preferred partner for the duration of the partnership.

"(These teams) are working together to create something unique in the retail world," Matt Furlong, GameStop CEO. Although it was not long ago that the company launched its NFT marketplace, it launched with incredible success but slowly and surely fizzled out.

Despite such moderate results, Furlong said during today's call that GameStop will continue its "long-term growth in the cryptocurrency, NFT, and Web 3.0 gaming vertical."
