Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has outlined his vision for a “plausible roadmap” for Eth2, presenting a future where the largest smart-contract platform can increase its scalability while meeting high standards for trustlessness and censorship resistance. 

In a Monday post titled “Endgame,” Buterin presented a thought experiment for how the average big blockchain — defined by very high block frequency, high block size and thousands of transactions per second — can still be considered sufficiently trustless and censorship-resistant. The obvious trade-off for this level of scalability is the centralization of block production. Buterin’s solutions, as presented in the blog post, do not address the centralization issue, but still provide a roadmap for implementation

Binance and Animoca Brands have launched a $200 million fund to invest in blockchain gaming projects built on Binance Smart Chain (BSC), the companies said in a press release on Monday.

Animoca Brands is an investor in non-fungible tokens and metaverse projects; it has a majority stake in metaverse game The Sandbox, and has invested in Axie Infinity, as well as NFT trading platform OpenSea. It was valued at $2.2 billion after a $65 million round in October.

“BitMart will use our own funding to cover the incident and compensate affected users,” wrote BitMart CEO. “We are also talking to multiple project teams to confirm the most reasonable solutions such as token swaps. No user assets will be harmed.”

– Soon after BitMart CEO Sheldon Xia confirmed the hack, Huobi announced it would help BitMart track the inflow of assets on its exchange and report matches to the stolen funds.

– Following suit, the Shiba Inu community also confirmed it would help the hacked crypto exchange, citing its already existing efforts in reviewing potential security threats for ShibaSwap, a community-built decentralized exchange.
