Pavel Durov has offered to bring some of Telegram's features to the NFT market with the possibility of incorporating these technologies into the messenger.
In his personal channel, which has 651,000 subscribers, Pavel Durov said that a large number of reserved Telegram addresses could be put up for sale as NFT.
"This would create a new platform where owners of usernames could transfer them to interested parties in secure transactions - with ownership secured on the blockchain through smart contracts like NFT," Pavel Durov said in a statement.
He was inspired by the sale of the wallet.ton name for 215,250 TON tokens by The Open Network. So far, more than 2,392,002 Toncoins have been sold, at a price of $1.29 at the time of writing, that's about $3 million in revenue.
Meanwhile, Casino.ton was sold for 200,000 TON and Bank.ton for 157,500 tokens. Durov also added: "Other elements of the Telegram ecosystem, including channels, stickers or emoji, may also become part of this market later."
The app now allows users to directly exchange Toncoin through bots that automate actions on the platform.
According to Durov, he believes using TON for its own auction plan would be best, given its scalability and speed.
