Yield Duck: What's bigger than DeFi? Edition №4

Oooooh... Is this... the fourth edition already?! YEAH. In my day, time went by much-a-slower...quack quack...this is Yield Duck on the phone, ducky boy. I'm from Farm Milka Ranch. I know more about farming than any duck in this fucking Gem City of yours and beyond!

Growth, growth, and growth again! That is how I will describe DeFi this week. Capitalization has reached a two-month high, TVL has consolidated above the $100B mark and is returning to early summer. So far, the future looks pretty bright and cloudless! General optimism in the market, the rise of Ethereum, and its upcoming update, NFT-gaming has accelerated and doesn't even think about slowing down...fingers crossed, as they say.

Ethereum

Ethereum still absolutely dominates the overall TVL (over 75%), and there is no obvious suggestion that this will change in any way shortly. Lido and Harvest are this week's growth champions (+28.5% and +18.1%).

BSC

BSC is also performing well, but its growth is being held back by the progress of blockchains such as Terra, Polygon and Solana. Continued regulatory pressure on Binance is certainly playing its role. Champions of the week according to BSC: Bepswap (+75.5%) and Apeswap (+67.8%).

Polygon

The volume of locked funds within the POLYGON ecosystem has barely changed over the past week, continuing to hold steady at $4.46B. The project launched a Stablecoin bridge with DeversiFI. It also showed some Play-to-Earn games. DFYN Network (DFYN) saw the largest increase in project funds: +38%, to the $280M mark. And liquidity aggregator DynoSwap (DINO) grew by 40%, to $520M.

Solana

Solana's blockchain continues to grow and increase funds raised. TVL increased by 8.5% to $1.26B during the week. Who are the leaders?

– DEX exchange Serum (SRM) showed a 76% increase, i.e. to $530M;

– DEX-exchange for stable and pegged сoins Mercurail Finance (MER), which raised 80% more capital, resulting in a fund level of $108M.

Projects’ News

MAKERDAO (MKR)

The project launched a voting system on a new platform, implementing the separation of trading and management voting platforms within a decentralized autonomous community. The first vote on the new platform was a proposal to change the collateral and interest parameters for several assets.

YEARN FINANCE (YEAR)

Just the other day the team released last month's activity report. It described all the new NFT add-ons for the project participants. In addition, the team announced the closure of the first version of the protocol and migration to the second version and put up a new Curve Finance gauge voting strategy.

LIDO FINANCE

The project continues to develop actively, adopting a new type of pledge bETH (wrapped stETH on terre) and introducing an incentive system for referral inviting users.

PancakeSwap (CAKE)

The beginning of August is reporting time, not only for corporations from the world of traditional finance but also for DeFi projects. The CAKE team released the report and changed the farms' composition: some farms will now have BUSD instead of BNB. And the CAKE team also burned 58k tokens as part of a liquidity management system.

SYNTHETIX (SNX)

The platform has opened an alpha version of its protocol that uses Optimistic Ξthereum L2. This will solve many problems with the speed and cost of user order execution.
