Kraken CEO, Jesse Powell, is stepping down after 10+ years in management

This is the second significant change in the company's leadership in recent months. The exchange's current COO will take over as CEO following Powell's departure.

According to a press release issued Wednesday (Aug. 21, 2022), Dave Ripley, Kraken's chief operating officer (COO), will replace Powell as the new CEO.

"Dave's proven leadership and experience give me great confidence that he is the perfect successor and the best person to lead Kraken through the next era of growth. I look forward to devoting more time to the company's products, user experience, and broader industry advocacy."

And yes, these are the words of Jesse, already Kraken's former boss, so there's certainly no need to start a style rumor :D. 

Powell joins the list of CEOs who have resigned lately. Michael Moreau of cryptocurrency brokerage Genesis and Michael Saylor of MicroStrategy left their CEO positions within the last few months.
