One of the largest auto manufacturers in the U.S. has applied for trademark registration for Metaverse and NFT. This comes a month after a massive downsizing of the company.
Most recently, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) trademark lawyer Mike Kondoudis made a tweet mentioning Ford. According to the tweet, the company has submitted 19 applications to register trademarks for such models as Lincoln, Explorer, Mustang, Bronco, & F-150 Lightning, among others.
The automaker plans to create downloadable artwork, text, audio & video of its cars, SUVs, trucks & vans that will be authenticated by NFT, the USPTO has reported.
It's not even a month since the company has been laying off employees en masse worldwide to cut wasteful budgets. A funny correlation is also noticeable; luxury car brands like Bentley and Lamborghini have already released NFT collections.
While Nissan, Toyota & Hyundai have so far only announced plans to expand into the fast-growing Metaverse space.
